Prosecutors say an unidentified shooter was acting in self-defense when he shot and killed 29-year-old Nathan Drew Morgan while drowning in Lake Kiev on Tuesday, the New York Post reported.
Police say Nathan Drew Morgan and his friend fell from their jet ski without a life jacket and the rescuer tried to help by pointing a pontoon at them.
But when Morgan returned safely he became a fighting warrior, and the man who became the shooter had to push him into the water. The man opened fire when Morgan returned to the board.
According to the O’Connor County Coroner’s Office, Morgan was shot in the chest.
“I’m definitely not seen or heard of anything like that,” local resident Brandon Thomas said after the incident.
“It’s very surprising, especially in the area where he is,” he added. “It’s crazy. It’s really unexpected here, it’s definitely.
