Many taxi drivers, in particular, say they are fed up with the worsening situation, according to them.
“Cones have become a problem for Montreal. I don’t understand, how do you want to promote the city when you throw cones everywhere?” said the taxi driver.
“I have been driving a taxi for 11 years. I have never seen it! Every year it increases,” he protested.
“Our work is very difficult because it takes us a long time,” said another.
Another driver said: “It’s very difficult, especially during peak hours, between 1pm and 6pm. There’s a lot of traffic.”
The Ministry of Transport (MTQ) indicates that travel will be difficult in the Louis-Hippolyte La Fontaine Bridge-Tunnel area, which is closed until 9am on Sunday.
Most blockages occur at night to help with fluidity.
