Catapult-type rides are made for thrills, but nothing beats the experience of throwing two riders against a beam as the cable gives way.
The horrifying incident, captured on video, happened on Wednesday night at the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, London, UK.
Pictures shared on social media show the two men taking their places on the catapult-like ride.
This type of carousel, unique to La Ronde in Montreal, uses straps to propel two people into the air tied to a metal ball.
Two rubber bands keep the ball upright so it maintains a straight line in the air.
Except this time, when the ball was pushed into the air, one of the two rubber bands holding it threw the sphere against the beam.
After hitting the metal beam, the ball hangs on the elastic left in the air.
Fortunately, according to the Daily Mail, the two men who took part in the ball were not injured.
A spokesperson for the park confirmed to British media that the ride was closed while the incident was investigated.
