Thus, the former Montreal Canadians had to miss the evening scheduled game against the Red Wings in Detroit.
Earlier today it was announced that three Wings players, including head coach Jeff Blaschil and his Quebec assistant Alex Tangwe, were facing the same fate. Goalkeeper Alex Nedeljkovic is one of the hockey players of concern. Forwards Giwani Smith and Carter Rowney should also isolate themselves.
The absence of Nedelzhkovic will particularly hurt the Wings, who have appeared in 21 games for the Detroit team since the start of the season. The goalie is 9-7-3, averaging 2.78 goals and a save rate of .916.
Doug Houda, assistant coach with the Red Wings, is currently in charge of the team in place of Blaschil.
In the case of Subban, he became the fifth player to follow protocol with the Devils after Nico Hischer, Jesper Bokwist, Ryan Graves and Christian Jarros. In 27 games this season, Subban has scored 11 points, including two goals.
