Quebecers shared more than $1.6 billion in lottery winnings in 2023, including 89 prizes of $1 million or more.
“Quebecers were especially lucky in 2023. Thanks in particular to Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49 and the Grande Vie jackpot, where families won more than $1.6 billion,” recalled Isabelle Jean, executive vice-president and head. Lottery operations at Loto-Québec.
Among the top prizes won in the province on Dec. 15, a family from Laurentians took home the $50,000,000 Lotto Max jackpot. On Halloween night, a couple from Estrie won the $55,000,000 Lotto Max jackpot. Over Thanksgiving weekend, a Montrealer also won the $50,000,000 Lotto Max jackpot.
Two sisters from Estrie won a $7,000,000 jackpot in the Grande Vie draw on December 28, and a couple from Chaudière-Appalaches won $5,000,000 in Lotto 6/49 on December 23.
The 10 biggest prizes awarded of the year:
- $55,000,000 in Lotto Max in November at Estrie;
- $50,000,000 at Lotto Max in December in Laurentians;
- $50,000,000 in Lotto Max in October in Montreal;
- $36,000,000 in February's Lotto 6/49 in Lanaudiere;
- $7,000,000 in Grande Vee in January in Choudier-Appalaches;
- $5,000,000 for Colossal in June in Montreal and Estrie;
- $5,000,000 in Lotto 6/49 in July in Choudier-Appalaches;
- $5,000,000 in Lotto 6/49 in June in Montérégie;
- $5,000,000 in Lotto 6/49 in October in Centre-du-Quebec, Laurentians, Montreal and Monterrey;
- $3,000,000 at Platinum in December at Bass-Saint-Laurent.
