In line with the ever-improving habits of its products, Mazda unveiled last week the range of changes to be made to the 2022 vintage of its CX-5 compact SUV.
Certainly, the current generation of rulers, whose foundations date back to 2012, will soon have complete reforms pending planned. In the meantime, here are the details of Mazda. Thus, the front bumper and grille received slight touch-ups, as well as the rear lights and rims design.
However the most important changes cannot be seen with the naked eye. Under the body, we now find the all-wheel drive standard that directly targeted the Subaru Forrester. Mazda also integrates a switch to adjust preset driving modes, which can further configure the experience. Finally, the suspension has also been modified to reduce the vibrations emitted into the passenger compartment and the seats have been redesigned.
No mechanical changes were announced. Therefore the CX-5 is always driven by a four-cylinder 2.5 L, one atmospheric (187 hp) and the other turbocharged (250 hp). Both are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
This update is the latest before the arrival of a new generation based on the rear-wheel drive platform aimed at developing the model in the luxury compact SUV segment. Mazda is also working on the development of an in-line cylinder engine, which will undoubtedly be used in the gym as well.
