The Community Overall health Company of Canada says 100 additional men and women have become sick from Salmonella contamination connected to a recall of U.S.-developed onions, bringing the complete number of confirmed situations to 339.

The company claims no deaths have been claimed but 48 people today have been hospitalized.

It suggests folks who turned ill vary in age from 3 to 100 and ate purple onions at dwelling, at dining places and in household care options.

As of Friday, the breakdown of confirmed conditions involves 78 individuals in B.C., 208 in Alberta, 19 in Saskatchewan, 19 in Manitoba, eight in Ontario, 6 in Quebec and one and Prince Edward Island.

The agency states persons must not consume, use, market or serve any pink, white, yellow, and sweet yellow onions from Thomson Worldwide Inc. of Bakersfield, Calif., or any solutions made with these onions.

It suggests there is no evidence to advise that onions grown in Canada are affiliated with the outbreak.

The Canadian Foodstuff Inspection Company suggests it is conducting a foods security investigation and has issued foods remember warnings for the manufacturer of raw imported onions and some food products and solutions that consist of these onions.
