Quebec has ordered the immediate shutdown of nearly 4,000 websites and government services that have been the target of the most dangerous security breaches in recent years.

“A balance of inconveniences means it is best to shut down systems and make sure they are safe before they are made available,” Digital Transformation Minister Eric Khair told a news conference Sunday.
The government confirms that the closure of these sites was preventive and non-reactive, as no trace of the present attempt has been found.
On Sunday’s offline sites, Le Journal listed access to Revenu Québec and some services of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Justice, the Retraite Québec portal, the Carnet santé Québec and the Espace Hydro-Québec customer.
