Nearly 600,000 doses in Canada are coming late to modern

Hundreds of thousands of doses of the moderna vaccine coming to Canada this weekend may be delayed until next Thursday.

The information was confirmed by Public Services and Procurement Minister Anita Anand on Thursday evening, who said the 255,600-dose Moderna arrived in the country on Wednesday.

590,400 doses are not available, will be delivered by the end of next week and not over the weekend.

This delay is not tied to EU export controls, which is guaranteed.

“This afternoon, I spoke to modern executives that due to delays in the quality assurance process, the 590,400 doses coming to Canada this weekend are being delayed by a few days,” Minister Anand told the media in a statement.

“The supplier informed us that this delay was temporary and would not affect the next scheduled delivery of 855,600 doses in the week of April 5th,” she said.

Since the vaccine operation began, Canada has received 5.9 million doses of the vaccine. The Biden administration is expecting an additional 1.2 million doses of Pfizer next week, in addition to Canada’s 1.5 million doses of estrogen.

“These deliveries, combined with Modrana’s scheduled shipments, will see Canada receive 3.2 million doses next week,” said Anita Anand.
