At least sportsnet reporter Elliott Friedman said the same. Players who are unable to travel due to local health restrictions lose their salary every day they are away.

However, the exceptions were anticipated. Therefore, players who are not vaccinated for medical reasons or for religious beliefs are exempt. There will be no wage loss for those who are infected or placed under preventive blockade during hockey related activities.

Vaccinated players get more freedom throughout the season. They are tested for the disease at least every 72 hours, but those who choose not to be vaccinated are tested daily.

Athletes who do not receive the needle are also left alone on the road, unable to visit places other than their hotel room, arena or training centers. They cannot invite anyone other than the fully vaccinated family members to their hotel room.

In addition, all employees in contact with members of teams’ hockey divisions, including players, must be vaccinated.
