“Bitcoin represents freedom, sovereignty and freedom from government coercion and control by the Biden-Harris administration,” Donald Trump said at a conference on the field of cryptocurrencies in Nashville, Tennessee.
The former host of the White House has promised, if he wins the 2024 election, to “keep 100% of the bitcoins held by the American government” and make them the “hard core of the national strategic reserves.”
“It's my administration's policy,” he told American holders, “to never sell out [leurs] Bitcoins”.
The Republican candidate recently rallied those who believe in cryptocurrencies despite his staunch opposition to Bitcoin during his presidency.
“If we don't adopt crypto and bitcoin technology, China will,” repeated Donald Trump.
“America's duty is to lead our adversaries in every respect, and to surrender our industries to none,” he added.
He acknowledged that bitcoins would require “tremendous amounts of electricity” to “mine, mint and manufacture” in the United States.
“We build power stations on sites. […] We use fossil fuels because we have to. He announced that we will use nuclear power.
He concluded: “We produce so much electricity, please Mr. President, we don't want any more electricity!”
The Republican nominee defeated Vice President Kamala Harris, who had promised to be her Democratic opponent in the presidential race.
Admitting that she was “having a bit of a honeymoon at the moment”, he denounced “a crazy radical left. […] It is also against cryptocurrencies.
