Protests in Buenos Aires against new health restrictions

There were several protests in Buenos Aires on Saturday condemning the new health restrictions imposed to curb the rise in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Putting avant-garde flags and chanting slogans against President Alberto Fernandez, the demonstrators focused their protests against the suspension of 15 days of face-to-face classes in schools, which will take effect from Monday, centered in the capital and its suburbs. Infection.

“Education is essential”, “Schools are not closing”, was written on banners placed by protesters.

The new sanctions apply to the capital and its margins, or 15 million of the country’s 45 million inhabitants.

In Buenos Aires, the occupancy of intensive care units rose to 74.3 percent on Saturday, from 64.8 percent nationally.

Limitations are from 8pm to 6am local time until April 30th.

Argentina on Saturday recorded 19,119 new cases, 80 deaths, a total of more than 2.6 million cases and 59,164 deaths.
