Quebec State reclaims part of Mont-Saint-Anne

The constant pressure from the Les Amis du Mont-Saint-Anne group has paid off as the Quebec government has initiated legal action to reclaim part of the mountain.

“Quebec wants to temporarily regain ownership of the land around the unoccupied mountain. These lands are mainly used for cross country skiing, mountain biking and camping,” the government said in a press release issued on Tuesday.

The government is determined to support the development and expansion of Mont-Saint-Anne, “the national infrastructure that represents the important recreational and tourist potential for C కోట్te d’Ivoire and Capitol-National”.

“It simply came to our notice then. The government says it is not satisfied with what is happening in the mountains. We are very happy to have achieved all this in six months, ”explained Yvonne Charest, President of Friends of Mont-Saint-Anne.

In recent years, critics have been incensed. Many condemned the error management and low investment in Mont-St-Anne. Chalets, lots of ski lifts and snowmaking need some love.

Regional officials elected by the former president of the Industrial Alliance are very pleased to be taking a clear position.

His company is now asking to hand over the eastern mountain sector to a new manager. And the team doesn’t stop there.

“In two weeks, we will present our plan for the whole mountain. If RCR does not want to invest, we will give it a respectable exit,” Mr. Charest adds, estimating the total upgrade of all infrastructure to about 100 million.

An additional agreement signed in 2008 with Station Montstein-Anne Inc., the Society des establishments de plain air du Quebec (Sepak) felt that it did not respect its major shareholder resorts of the Canadian Rockies (RCR). The agreement stipulates that the station MSA has undertaken to acquire sub-surface rights from Sepak as per the full schedule of fifteen years.

The government hopes to work with local stakeholders to make the transition easier and promote a development plan for recreational tourism activities in Buffer, it said in a press release.

In the coming years, the Mont-Saint-Anne club will have competition from Le Massif with the grand opening‌ in a few months of Mad Quebec Charlevoix. The company will soon begin the process of hiring more than 350 employees.

• In 1994, the government privatized Mont-Saint-Anne.
• 1^Is In October 2001, the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies (RCR) station became a majority shareholder of MSA.
• An additional agreement was reached in 2008 on a new schedule for land funding under 15 years.
• To this day, the Quebec RCR says it is against Sepak by default.
