Leading goaltender Henrik Lundquist will buy the final year of his contract with the New York Rangers this week, SportsNet can confirm.
The decision marks the end of a 15 – year run in New York for the future Hall of Fame. The 38-year-old Lundquist took a $ 8.5 million cap hit on a seven-year contract signed in 2013, but owed only $ 5.5 million in total salary for the 2020-21 season.
