It is reported that Quebec ‘Samuel Blaise has traded to the New York Rangers in place of forward Powell Buchnevich, who will join the St. Louis Blues with a second round pick in the 2022 draft.

The Russian player is the biggest part of that deal, setting a career high of 48 points in just 54 games in 2020-2021. However, Buchnevich’s contract expires on July 28 and he becomes a free agent with compensation.
The 26-year-old right winger is definitely asking for more than the 25 3.25 million he made last season.
Sixth round pick (176E Overall) In the Blues in 2014, Blaise earned his niche in the last two campaigns in Missouri. A native of Montmagni played a supporting role in the team, but his ability allowed him to win the Stanley Cup in 2019.
Blaise set a career high of eight goals and 15 points in 36 games in 2020-21. The injury to the upper part of the body caused him to miss some meetings at the end of the campaign.
The former Victoriaville Tigers and Charlottetown Islanders will become free agent without compensation at the end of next season. He will join some of the Quebecs in New York, especially forwarding Alexis Lafrenier and Julian Gautier.
