Just 13 years old, the young Montrealer decided to turn her passion for plants into a real boutique on Laurier Avenue.

After years of cultivating her passion at home, Maude Rioux launched Espace Maude last February, a boutique and transactional website offering plants and accessories with delivery anywhere in Quebec.

“It all started when I went on a road trip to the United States with my mother. When we moved to Arizona, I fell in love with cacti and giant plants,” the young entrepreneur told QUB Radio on Thursday.

When she returned, Maud began collecting about 300 plants in her room.

His family got the idea to set up shop after noticing a vacant lot on a random walk down Avenue Laurier, thanks to today’s plant suppliers.

Maude Rioux follows her school curriculum at home, which allows her to develop her business.

“Since I am homeschooling, it gives me more freedom in my small business. In the morning, I dedicate myself to my studies and in the afternoon, I go to my shop,” she told host Yasmin Abdelfadel.

The budding entrepreneur’s passion for developing her passion for business has gone so far as to attract the attention of Radio Television Suisse, which recently dedicated a report to her.

“My wish is that all Quebecers have at least one plant indoors, because a plant is really good,” enthuses the young man.
