The Canadians hired Mary-Philip Pauline

Montreal Canadians on Tuesday hired hockey player Mary-Philip Pauline as a player development consultant.

The 31-year-old will replace the position part-time while continuing her career on the ice. Pauline is called upon to work with players on the ice and during video sessions to improve their individual and collective skills, in collaboration with Player Development Director Rob Ramez and Hockey Development Director Adam Nichols.

Surprisingly, the team was delighted to have a prominent athlete in Quebec, who has repeatedly excelled on the international stage.

“It is a privilege to have a competent person like Mary-Philip Pauline in our ranks. She is the best in her field and her achievements will help build a winning culture with Canadians, club owner Geoff Molson said in a statement. His arrival is another step towards the diversity we want to establish in the organization.

“We are excited to add Mary-Philip Pauline to our hockey development division,” said Kent Hughes, general manager. Mary-Philip is one of the best players on the planet and she won at the highest level, which is very beneficial to our players.
