The Hudson Bay real estate project did not pass

Hudson Bay Company’s Construction Project Office de Consultation Public de Montreal and citizens who did not agree to the construction of the 25-foot glass office tower. Floors and will be 120 meters.

The project was submitted to the Office de Consultation de la Ville de Montreal, where 150 people expressed their views and 1500 followed the consultation.

Citizens fear that the construction of this tower, which will destroy the brutal architectural part of the La Boy store in downtown Montreal, will make a big difference between the iconic building and the planned building.

The Consultation Office has asked the company to make other proposals, especially if the submission obstructs the landscape.

“It does not respect the protection of views from Mount Royal,” explained Dominic Olivier of the Office de Consultation Public de Montreal. “When you are on the Royal Mountain and looking south, you can see up to the river, and if they build a 25 storey tower, there will be some views of the river that will be obstructed.”

The decision of the office was also applauded on behalf of the people.

“I found it to ruin the beauty,” one man questioned the situation. “Old structures, you put new buildings next to them, they don’t fit the decor.”

“They need to do their homework again. No, it’s not working,” added one woman.

In response, the Hudson Bay Company issued a press release to TVA Nouvelles.

“We will take the next few weeks to study his recommendations. We look forward to the resolutions of the advisory committee created at the request of the mayor’s office. Please study this project before making our comments,” it read.

The recommendations will therefore be studied in the coming weeks.
