With the arrival of summer, tourists began to roam the streets of Quebec. On the other hand, although the tourism season has been very enthusiastically welcomed, some challenges remain.

The tourist season has officially opened to the delight of restaurants and hotel owners. Some believe the tourist season will be better than 2019.
“I can tell you that 95% of my customers come from outside and the rest of Canada,” Chez Jules Brewery manager Cédric Laplante said in an interview with TVA Nouvelles on Sunday.
“Tourists are coming back from all over the world. Cruise ships also began. We have work to do, and it’s great, ”said Cafe Smith manager Julie Poyer.
However, one challenge remains: labor shortages. Companies are particularly adaptable by adjusting their opening hours.
“When you do not have the staff you need, it’s a burden on all good employees,” said Michel Dore, owner of a hotel in Old Quebec.
“We’re all already working more hours than we could have done or doing more than we wanted to, but we had no choice but to take advantage of the season,” she said. Dorey added.
This situation, while not obvious, forces many company owners to defraud this shortage.
