Vaccinate at least 8 times to relieve pain

According to health officials in the country, a person in India is reported to have received at least 8 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Brahmadev Mandal, 65, said he received 11 injections between February and December 2021.

“After taking the vaccines, my pain disappeared. I felt knee pain and I walked with the stick. Now I have nothing. I feel good, ”he said.

Mr Mandal was due to receive his 12th dose of the vaccine last week.

An investigation is underway to find out how a 60-year-old man was vaccinated in several cases.

“We have evidence that he took eight injections at four different centers,” Madhepura surgeon Amarendra Pratap Shahi told the BBC.

Since the launch of the vaccination campaign on January 16, 2021, India has been providing mainly domestically manufactured Kovshield and Kovacin vaccines.

These vaccinations require a delay of 12 to 16 weeks and 4 to 6 weeks, respectively.

Vaccination is provided at more than 90,000 vaccination centers across the country, including camps that do not require an appointment. However, in order to be vaccinated, citizens must provide identification.

According to a preliminary investigation, Brahmadev Mandal was able to receive “two doses in 30 minutes” on the same day. However two injections are registered in the vaccine portal.

“We do not understand how this could have happened. There seems to be a problem on the portal. We are also trying to determine if there is negligence on the part of the people at the vaccination centers,” Mr Shahi said.

Mr Mandal said he had gone to various vaccination centers in Madhepura and at least two in the surrounding areas – including a distance of more than 100 km – to receive his injections. He also said he used various identification pieces to register.

Finally, the man is said to have kept detailed notes stating the dates, time and place of each of his injections.
