Private Seniors Residence (RPA) residents in areas with the highest community transmission will be required to wear a mask by Monday, the Department of Health and Social Services announced Friday.
Movements in the living room, elevators and interior common areas require a quality intervention mask.
The measure is currently changing and targeting the Center-du-Quebec, Estre, Montreal, Autouis, Laval, Lanadier, Laurentides and Monterey areas.
In the Chowderre-Appalachian region, only the MRCs of Appalachians, Beau-Sertigan, Robert-Klich and Etchimin are targeted.
“The list of targeted territories may vary depending on the epidemiological situation,” the ministry warned in a press release.
In residences on the territories of the Nunavic Regional Board of Health and Social Services and the Chris Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay, this decision is at the discretion of the Regional Director of Public Health.
The ministry explains that this measure was recommended when the delta variant was more contagious and viral in the wake of the fourth wave of COVID-19.
