Will Smith slaps Chris Rock: Here’s what happened during the commercial break

Shortly after hitting Chris Rock in the face live at the Oscars on Sunday night, Will Smith was comforted by his teammates and friends who came on stage to talk to him.

In a video posted on Twitter by Hollywood reporter Scott Feinberg, Denzel can be seen supporting Washington and Tyler Perry while Will Smith was on stage during a commercial break immediately after the incident.

These seem to encourage him and tell him to take it for himself. Will Smith wiped away a few tears before stepping down to comfort his press officer.

He later joined his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, who consoled him.

The world was rocked when an altercation broke out between the two actors on Sunday evening, with the first man going on stage and hitting the second man.

The ABC channel muted the sound in the next scene, but the dialogue could be heard on foreign televisions.
