(Houston) After two failures in three years, the Houston Astros were able to celebrate another World Series title.
Updated yesterday at 11:45 pm.
Yordon Alvarez homered in the sixth inning and the Astros beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 in Game 6 of the World Series on Saturday night.
With Jose Altuve and Jeremy Pena on the trails, Alvarez hit a throw from reliever Jose Alvarado wide to center field to give the Astros a 3-1 lead.
“When I rounded second base, I felt the whole stadium shake,” Alvarez said.
The Astros became the first major league team to win the World Series on home soil since the Boston Red Sox in 2013.
