DK Oyster Restaurant on the Greek island of Mykonos is still talked about for the wrong reasons. Two American vacationers reported on the TripAdvisor site that they received a bill of 690 euros (about $1,015 Canadian) for just two cocktails.

A review written against the establishment, “Avoid at all costs”, claimed that tourists were tricked into offering lounge chairs on the beach on the condition that they buy particularly good drinks.
“We ordered two drinks and later found out they cost 51 euros each. As if that wasn't already crazy enough, when we got back to the United States, we noticed that our account had been billed for a total of $876 (American),” wrote Lori, a tourist.

The couple is trying to reverse the amount, claiming they never had a receipt or signed anything.
In response to these criticisms, DK Oyster's manager, Dimitrios Kalamaras, tried to justify his establishment prices.
“Our lounge chairs come with minimal usage, so we encourage our customers to check our menu before ordering,” he replied.
The latter stated that the restaurant menu was displayed at the entrance with food and beverage prices.

However, this is not the first time that the establishment has come under fire for high prices.
The restaurant made headlines in August 2022 for charging another American couple $655 for four drinks and 12 oysters, in addition to racking up several negative comments online.
A year later, Italian tourists complained to several media outlets that they had to pay more than $1,000 for a shrimp dish and four drinks.
