Super Bowl LV takes a quarterback over his successor when Tom Brady and Patrick Mahoms step on the pitch at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay on February 7.
This is the fifth time – and perhaps the last – that both have crossed paths on the field in an NFL game.
“Must be able to face one of the best – if not all – quarterbacks in his 150sE Super Bowl, it’s a great experience, ”Mahomes joked Sunday after a 38 to 24 victory over Kansas City Chiefs Buffalo Bills.
Brady’s advantage over the first two duels between the Pivots, the only playoff game between the two, was the victory for the New England Patriots in the 2018 American Association Finals. However, two recent clashes have been in favor of Mahoms, the man who threw the chiefs against the “Bucks” in the regular season.
This time, the chiefs will be considered favorites as they try to repeat their feat by winning a second consecutive title from last season.
“There’s a chance to win again and do it against the best, which is a special thing and I’m excited to get this opportunity,” Mahoms added.
The last team to win the Super Bowls back-to-back was none other than the Patriots under Brady in the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
