The Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ) is trying to position itself as a “progressive party”. Chef Dominic Anglade has proposed reviewing the provision that a public call for tenders is automatically won by the lowest bidder.
According to the new liberal economic vision, companies that want to do business with the state should also show that they care about environmental and social issues.
“For example, a company, it may be the lowest bidder, but all its products are made outside Quebec. […] The local company can benefit from this agreement, ”the PLQ chief argued on Friday.
According to Dominic Angled, the same requirements apply to organizations seeking financial assistance from the state.
“Businesses [devraient] Have a triple mission. Of course, to make a profit, but also to take care of our world and take care of our planet ”, she appealed at a virtual press conference.
Does the PLQ orchestrate left turn? OmTo me Angled played it safe. “A turn towards progress,” she told the media.
In addition, Carlos Letao, the former liberal finance minister, would not fear a capital flight if he imposed social and environmental rules to enable him to do business with the state of Quebec.
“On the contrary,” he said. This new way of doing things “attracts extra capital,” he said.
He said that when he was in charge of the state, he was put under pressure from companies that threatened to withdraw if they did not get what they wanted.
Carlos Letao, who said he had changed his perspective on the pandemic, now has a completely different attitude. “Do you want to go? Well, Good bye ! ”⁇.
With this new “human” vision, the former minister believes the PLQ should become the party of the 21st economy.E Century. Franకోois Legalt’s forces have a way of doing things appropriate to the past, he stressed. “CAQ 20 is the party of the economyE Century! “
