5 iPhone 12 features not found on any Android smartphone

All we know is how the iPhone 12 series will stock up on their closest rivals like Samsung, OnePlus, Sony and Google. So, to break down what the new iPhone is going for – as well as the fact that it is very missing – here is a list of five features that you will not find in its Android counterparts.

1) iPhone 12 features you may not see on Android: Ceramic Shield

The Ceramic Shield is a new hardened glass developed by Apple and smash proof experts Corning కార్. Although you’ve found Corning’s super-strength Gorilla Glass product, the latest Gorilla Glass Victus (designed to prevent everyday scuffs and scratches) was re-announced in August. And according to both companies, the latest outcome of this partnership is truly unique.

The California company, known as the Ceramic Shield, Apple’s marketing division, says it’s tougher than other smartphone glasses currently available. Corning and apple combine hardened glass with nano-ceramic crystals. The result? Apple claims that four new iPhone 12 models are four times more likely to accidentally drop out.

2) iPhone 12 features you may not see on Android: Magsafe

Android smartphones have had wireless charging support for a few years and the Apple bandwagon has been slow to jump. However, now that wireless charging is being sold on every iPhone in the Apple Store, the US company is now bringing some interesting new additions to the table. MagSafe, which has taken its brand name from trip-proof magnetic charging cables shipped with all MacBooks in the past, allows wireless charging puck Snap On the back side of your iPhone. This ensures that the smartphone does not come out of alignment with the charging coils after a few notifications and you can pick up and use your iPhone while charging.

Of course, you can do all this with a good ol fashion cable. The charging cable is not very good if you travel on it – it flies your £ 999 iPhone 12 Pro across the room. This is something that should not happen with Magsaysay. More interesting than charging, Apple is already using the MagSafe for new accessories, including a lightweight card-holder, which magnetically sticks to the back of your handset and triggers custom animations to match the color of the accessory. Third parties are allowed to make their own MagSafe gadgets, so in the coming months we may see a truckload of interesting applications – from car charging mounts, to wallets and folios.

3) iPhone 12 features you may not see on Android: A14 Bionic

Although most major Android smartphones are fueled by the latest and greatest from US chipmaker Qualcomm, Apple designs its own processors. This allowed the California company to focus on what it prioritizes – battery life, speed, camera – compared to one-size-fits-all approaches, designed to work on devices from a wide variety of manufacturers, such as the Snapdragon 825. Over the past few years, Apple’s policy seems to have really paid off, with iPhones regularly tearing down Android handsets with three times as much RAM as benchmark tests.

With the A14 Bionic, Apple is tearing down its own MacBook Air models. Silicon is the first smartphone in the iPhone 12 series to be built on the chipset 5-nanometer process. In a word, all the major components are integrated into the minuscule chip – allowing data to travel shorter distances and use less power, which makes the smartphone faster and increases battery life. This is a very (very) simplified explanation, but what you really need to know is that the A14 Bionic is a real beast.

It has up to 50 percent faster CPU and GPU compared to the fastest competing smartphone chips. The A14 Bionic also features a 16-core neural engine – hopefully designed to handle faces in the handset, such as spotting faces in the Photos app, pointing to iOS apps all day based on your habits, and more.

Apple claims that its A14 bionic has an 80 percent increase in performance and can complete 11 trillion operations per second. Android is not compatible with it … until the Huawei Mate 40 Pro, which uses a Huawei-designed chipset built with a 5nm process – but has no access to YouTube, Google Maps or the Google Play Store, and will launch in the coming weeks.

4) iPhone 12 features you may not see on Android: Smart data mode

5G is clearly the future. This next generation mobile signal allows super-speed downloads and less latency. Even better, in a crowded place, 5G smartphones like the packed football stadium, the sale gig or the festival will not lose speed – unspeakable for 4G. However, there will be some tax on 5G battery life.

Many Android manufacturers have solved this problem by increasing the battery cell size. Do not deny it, it works very well. However, Apple has taken a different approach to creating the “smallest and lightest” 5G smartphone on the planet – the new iPhone 12 Mini, which was launched in November.

The iPhone 12, also known as smart data mode, toggles between 4G and 5G depending on how much bandwidth you need. So, if you are reading an email or a long-term article – like this – chances are, 4G speed works well. So, Apple will convert your iPhone 12 to this slow mobile technology and save battery life. But, if you jump on the train to start the morning journey and try to download the entire season of the show on Netflix, the iPhone 12 will connect to 5G and download hours of HD content in minutes.

5) iPhone 12 features you may not see on Android: Dolby Vision

If you are a junior Hollywood director, the iPhone 12 is the first device on the planet to offer the ability to shoot and edit Dolby Vision HDR footage. Video can be shot up to 60 frames per second – more than the 24fps most blockbusters shoot – and can be edited in the Photos app or iMovie. Thanks to the whispering of the Dolby Vision grading A14 bionic is directly processed and stable when editing (see above). The final cut of Apple’s professional-grade editing software will soon be updated to support Dolby Vision HDR and you can already playback your latest movie with Apple TV as well.

1) iPhone 12: Android features you may not see on the high-refresh rate display

A number of Android smartphones – similar to the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, as well as much cheaper – are already offering a high-refresh rate OLED display. For those unfamiliar, until recently, most smartphone displays were 60Hz, meaning they refreshed the image 60 times per second. Doubling to 120Hz makes system animations smoother, eliminates stuttering from scrolling, makes fast video games more responsive and feels much more.

Unfortunately, Apple has decided to keep the refresh rate on the iPhone 12 Series at 60 Hz. It’s a shame that Apple is well aware of how clever 120Hz panels are – one of the company’s pioneers when this technology was introduced to the iPad Pro series years ago. Due to the shared “Pro” branding between this premium tablet and the iPhone 12 Pro, it seems odd that Apple did not at least include it in the £ 999 + smartphone.
