COVID-19, 5 additional deaths Alberta confirmed 515 new cases

Alberta Health on Wednesday confirmed an additional 515 COVID-19 cases.

As of Wednesday, the hospital had 164 people, 30 of whom were in the ICU. The province completed 1,842,754 COVID-19 tests (7,461 on November 3) and 23,874 Alberts recovered.

There are now 6,230 active cases in this province.

Most of those cases continue in the Edmonton and Calgary zones. As of Wednesday, there were 2,610 active cases in the Calgary Zone and 2,642 active cases in the Edmonton Zone.

Elsewhere in the province, 224 cases were reported in the Central Zone, 333 in the South Zone and 400 in the North Zone. There are 21 active cases in Alberta that are not affiliated with a particular zone.

There were five additional deaths Wednesday in Alberta, three of which were related to outbreaks.

There were two deaths in the Calgary Zone: a man in his 90s and a woman in her 80s who were involved in an outbreak at Mount Royal Revera at the Wing Key Care Center.

In the Edmonton zone, an 80-year-old woman involved in an outbreak at the Edmonton General Care Center also died.

A woman in her 70s from the Royal Alexandra Hospital. The death was reported by AHS on Tuesday.

One man also died in his 80s. He came from the South Zone and had nothing to do with outbreaks or continued care.

Alberta’s COVID-19 death toll now stands at 343.
