On Friday, Trump’s legal team suffered another defeat when the federal appeal was filed The court in Philadelphia rejected the campaign’s latest attempt To challenge state election results.
Trump’s lawyers say they will take the case to the Supreme Court, despite Philadelphia judges’ assessment that “the campaign is not worthy of arguments.”
For a panel of three judges, Judge Stefanos Bibas wrote: “Free and fair elections are the lifeblood of our democracy. The allegations of injustice are serious. But calling the election unfair does not do that. The allegations require specific allegations and proof. We are not even here. ”
Trump continued without evidence that there was electoral fraud in the state, tweeting early Saturday: “1,126,940 votes were created from thin air. I’ve won a lot of Pennsylvania, and no one will ever know. ”
Meanwhile, Trump’s baseless claims about electoral fraud in Georgia He is mostly worried about his own party. Republicans are worried that the confusion caused by Trump’s attitude and his false comments on election behavior in a key swing state that Biden won for Democrats could thwart his party’s efforts to retain control of the Senate.
The runoff is scheduled for early January for two Senate seats in the state, and if the Democrats win two seats, it will give them control over the upper house as well as the House of Representatives.
When asked about his previous unsubstantiated claims in Georgia at a Thanksgiving Day press conference, Trump said he was “very concerned” about them, “you have a fraudulent system.” He later called Republican Secretary of State Brad Rafensperger, who defended the state election process “the enemy of the people.”
Republicans are anxious to get Georgia voters to come to the polls in January, to volunteer for their Senate campaigns and – most importantly – to dig deep into their pockets to pay for unexpected runoff races.
Trump’s remarks in particular have sparked conspiracy theories that the state’s electoral system is tough, and have prompted some of his supporters to boycott the upcoming vote – something that local Georgia Republicans do not want seriously. “His demonization of Georgia’s entire electoral system is undermining his party’s chances of keeping the Senate,” Politico warned in an article published.
