Return to indoor group training in the Orange Zone

Return to indoor group training in the Orange Zone

It is a real breath of fresh air for athletes. From Friday morning, indoor training for eight and outdoor training for twelve will be allowed in the Orange Zone.

Some did not want to waste a single minute: the Patriot players of the University of Quebec in Trois-Riviers (UQTR) jumped into the snow at 10:30 am. William LeBlanc was one of them. “It simply came to our notice then. To see the guys again, to play hockey, that’s what we want to do to make a living, ”he told TVA Novelles.

For three weeks, they can go on the ice at once with their coach Mark-Etienne Hubertబె. It has nothing to do with good old habits. “You can do coordination, synchronization between players, entering and exiting the zone, doing exercises that you can only do things with teammates.”

But this right comes with a share of its responsibilities: the list of policies to follow is too long. There is a protocol called “Arrival, departure, hand washing, distance in the rain”.

By the end of the season the group training had resumed. But for athletes, this is not a reason to train. “It affects our courage a lot,” Matthew Boucher began. “Not practicing too much, as a hockey player you want to improve, you want to go on the ice and see your teammates. So coming back on the ice is big for us. ”

The same story with his teammate Zachary Lavigne. “We want to prepare for next year. Here, the goal is to win the championship. So the more time we can spend together and try to improve, the more we take.”
