F1: Lance Stroll enjoys the Imola circuit

Lance Stroll was delighted with his performance behind the wheel of his Aston Martin on Friday during the first two free practice sessions of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix on Friday in Imola, Italy.

Quebecar finished 10th in the second session, finishing 1.186 seconds faster than fast driver Valteri Batas (Mercedes). In the first session, the Montreal native took the eighth stage.

Stroll admired the features of Enzo and Dino Ferrari’s circuit, which made him a little nostalgic.

“It’s great to be back at Imola because it’s an amazing circuit. Traveling there is satisfying, especially when you can attack it and use barriers. It reminds me of my karting days.”

“I say it’s an old school circuit, it punishes you for your mistakes. That’s why I think pilots like it that way,” he added.

Before Mercedes

Botas was fast in both sessions. Twice he was slightly ahead of his teammate Louis Hamilton.

Pierre Gasley (Alpha Tauri) took the third step in the second session, while Max Verstappen (Red Bull) did the same in the first. In the second session the Belgian struggled with his car, which forced him to spend only 10 minutes on the track.

For his part, Toronto’s Nicholas Latifi (Williams) was behind the stroll in the first leg of the event. He finished 12th in the second session.

The third free practice session will take place on Saturday morning and will be eligible later. The race takes place on Sunday.
