Stability in Quebec and growth in Ontario

Quebec was on a plateau on Thursday, adding 1,042 new cases to its epidemic.

La Belle Province has had 10,913 deaths (+5) with 348,732 illnesses since the crisis began.

Hospitalizations are declining (623, -20), but individuals who do not require intensive care (165, +4). Montreal (273 cases), Capitol-National (117 cases), Monterogie (112 cases) and Chaudier-Appalachians (109 cases) contributed the most to the number of infections on Thursday.

More than 72,000 people were vaccinated for a total of 3,039,512 doses. 2802 doses given before April 28 were added to reach this amount.

Cases in Ontario rose to 3,871 on Thursday, up from 3,480 the day before and 3,265 on Tuesday. However, this is far less than the 4,000 and more infections reported in the previous week, as new sanctions have been imposed in the province. A total of 41 deaths were reported Thursday in Ontario, for a total of 8,029 deaths and 459,477 illnesses.

Hospitalizations decreased (2248, -33), but the number of those on intensive care (884, +7) as well as those on ventilators (620, +15) was increasing.

Toronto (1,172 cases) is a major source of pollution in Ontario, ahead of its immediate areas Peel (901 cases), York (392 cases) and Durham (292 cases).

As of this morning, there were a total of 1,207,650 cases (+4913) and 24,163 deaths (+46) in Canada.
