Pfizer-Bioentech’s vaccine is no longer required to be stored at a storage temperature of -25 to -15 degrees Celsius, which allows for greater flexibility in distribution.

Health Canada on Wednesday announced that it can be stored for up to a month at a freezing temperature of 2 to 8 degrees Celsius.
Pfizer-Bioentech submitted the request on May 10 and, over time, continued to analyze vaccine storage conditions.
“This change means there will be more storage options for Pfizer-BioMtech’s vaccine, which will allow more flexibility in distribution plans,” the federal agency said in a statement.
Health Canada stated that “the unreduced COVID-19 vaccine was determined to be stable when stored for 31 days at standard refrigeration temperature.”
Initially, the Pfizer-Bioentech vaccine should be administered at a storage temperature of -80 to -60 degrees Celsius. On March 3, Health Canada allowed storage temperatures of -25 to -15 degrees Celsius for a maximum of two weeks.
