In many cases, in the previous weeks we have already mentioned AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), especially since its release date is scheduled for June 21st in thirty days. AMD recently filed a patent with USTPO (United States Patent Application Office) Provides additional information on how this technology can work more accurately in November 2019.
On Twitter, the Underfox account GSR (Gaming Super Resolution) From AMD, the first name that the same technology had at the time and DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) From NVIDIA. Technology ofHigh level AMD integrates linear and non-linear rendering methods. However, the patent explains that current policies rely solely on linear scaling functions. Patent indicates that AMD’s technology is based on CPU and / or GPU computing units. It can work on different platforms: PC, console, tablet, smartphone or television. Note that DLSS only works with RTX graphics cards from NVIDIA.
If the promises made in this patent are to be fulfilled, AMD will have a technology that is comparable to Nvidia and is clearly very universal. It remains to be seen what all this will lead to in practice – uming that the methods in this patent will find real application. To test the technology in practice, this appointment takes place within a month.
