Kovid-19: California bids farewell to health restrictions on June 15

According to the plan, California officials announced Friday that the state could end most health restrictions related to COVID-19 from June 15, completely reopening businesses without physical distance and wearing unnecessary masks for vaccinators.

“If we look at the statistics, California is ready to go backwards,” said Mark Ghaly, a public health officer in the American West State who implemented a four-color scale health restriction system during the epidemic. .

Since the outbreak last winter, California has seen a significant drop in the number of COVID-19 cases in its population, especially thanks to the vaccination rate.

In total, over 35.5 million doses have been given to date and 61% of the population has received at least one injection, with almost half (48%) already vaccinated.

Hospitals connected to the coronavirus have dropped to a minimum “from the first months or first weeks of the epidemic,” Dr. Ghali said.

California has no plans to introduce a “vaccine passport” system, but private companies or event planners will need such checks for their customers or employees, the official said.

For large public events attended by more than 10,000 people, California authorities recommend proof of vaccination or a negative test, failing which spectators will have to wear a mask.

In the case of events taking place in the cover rooms and involving more than 5,000 people, “We need – it is not recommended – vaccine proof or negative test, it can not be attended to just wearing a mask,” Mark Ghaly warned.
