Of the two hospitals in Sherbrook, the number of hospitals affiliated with COVID-19 is steadily declining. As of Friday, 21 people were hospitalized, three of them in intensive care. During the peak of the third wave in mid-May, there were 40 hospitalized patients, nine of whom were in intensive care.
Another positive is that the vaccine is also progressing: 337,182 out of 505,520 people received the first dose of the vaccine against COVID-19, or 66.7% of the population.
CIUSSS de l’Estrie-CHUS began giving second doses of the vaccine, and overall, 9.3% of the population is now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The number of active cases in estrey is also declining significantly: now 104 people are battling the disease.
