COVID-19: Full reopening of Alberta by July 1st

Alberta Premier Jason Kenny made the announcement at a news conference Friday that the province has crossed the 70% milestone of eligible population, receiving at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Indoor social gatherings will no longer be banned and restrictions on public gatherings will be lifted.

This also applies to the limitations surrounding the capacity of restaurants, shops and places of worship.

The second dose of the vaccine

The Alberta government has announced that it is accelerating the distribution of second-dose COVID-19 vaccine.

Individuals who receive their first dose in May can make an appointment 10 days in advance, Friday, the day the province is originally scheduled.

Those who receive their first dose in June can make an appointment four weeks after vaccination.
