First solo trip abroad. Thursday, Jill Biden Arrived in Tokyo during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. The First Lady will lead the U.S. delegation to the event, which will take place without an audience due to the Kovid-19 pandemic. Jill Biden will host a dinner with Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and his wife Mariko Suga at the Akasaka Palace on Thursday and will meet the U.S. Olympic team through her screens on Friday, the opening day.

On her way to Japan, Jill Biden made a stopover at Anchorage in Alaska, where she spoke with the Alaska Native Health Tribal Health Consortium about the state vaccine campaign. “It’s great to be back in Alaska, to share with dear friends we ‘have had for years. Alaska is working hard to vaccinate people (I’m learned, I’m vaccinated on whale watching boats!)!),” She wrote on Twitter before leaving for Tokyo.
It was wonderful to be back in Alaska today and to share the memories of our dear friends who have been here for years. Alaska is doing great things to vaccinate people (I have learned, I am distributing some vaccines on whale watching boats!).
