Lent Russian Orthodox Christian Ksenia Ovchinnikova stopped her fast after seeing an advertising poster with her effigy, British media “The Mirror” reported.

The Zamoskvoretsky court in Russia confirmed that it had received its complaint and stayed it for a preliminary hearing date.

“After seeing the ad I could not help myself, I went to McDonald’s and bought a cheeseburger,” she explained.

She blamed restaurant giants for advertising meat and animal products while away from both Christians. “I saw that I was violating the law on consumer protection and I asked the court to investigate,” she continued.

Interestingly, she asks for compensation for “moral damages” in the amount of 1,000 rubles ($ 17).
