Record number of cubes in allouts

Record number of cubes in allouts

Edmonton | When they were hired in January 2020, President Mario Secini and General Manager Danny Maciosia expressed a desire to have several players from Quebec in their training. A few hours before the start of the 2021 season all we could say was that the mission was fulfilled.

They started their training camp with about 30 cubs under the Alloutes contract. Then, after a few retirements and cuts last month, they will be 13, making their Alloutes debut on Saturday at the Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton.

There are three others in the training squad and their name has been added to the six-game injury list.

This is a record since CFL football returned to Montreal in 1996, after certification with the Montreal organization. However, we have not been able to confirm that this is a record in the entire history of the Montreal discount.

When Macios says we have to keep Quebec talent with Alutes, they are not empty words. The tone was set for the beginning of his tenure as Managing Director.

Limited characters

Like the Canadian players in the CFL, the majority of cubes have limited roles in attack and defense. On the other hand, they can differ on specific groups that are a very important angle in the Canadian circuit.

With Jean-Samuel Blanc, Alexander Chevrier and Alexander Gagney, in particular, Alloutes is well on kick coverage. Others also have their own opinion on this level.

Don’t forget that kicker David Cote and long-throw specialist Pierre-Luke Karen can make a difference in some games.

It will be interesting to see what they can do together with the team from their city and their province.
