“In the event of an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases resulting from the current fourth wave, as well as the existence of a delta variant in the population, it is more prudent to postpone the gradual return of employees to work. Recently opened environments,” read the press release.

It was also stated that the recommendation would be re-evaluated in early October.

Public health justifies this recommendation because many of the prevalence of previous waves occurred in other places and offices.

“The next few weeks will be marked by the beginning of the school year, indicating an increase in contacts and their unpredictable impact on the epidemiological situation,” one adds.

Public health therefore depends on caution and seeks to minimize the underlying exposure to the virus outbreak.

The Delta variant currently represents more than 50% of cases in Quebec.

The officers stay at home

The Quebec government has announced a gradual return to the office of its officers due to an epidemiological situation.

  • Listen to Richard Martino’s interview with Carl Blackburn, Quebec Employers Council President and CEO at QUB Radio:

The plan, which is scheduled to start on September 7, will start on October 4, the government said in a statement.

Therefore, the majority of the staff will continue the telework.

“The health and safety of the staff is paramount and as a major employer, I believe in leading by example. We will assess the situation at the end of September and inform the relevant staff whether October 4 will be held or not,” said Public Administration Minister Sonia Label.
