In India, 10 million people were vaccinated in 24 hours

India has vaccinated tens of millions of people against Kovid-19 in a single day, and on a record level, the Asian giant is trying to combat the new epidemic announced by the authorities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the country, with a population of 1.3 billion, as the second most populous country in the world on Friday. “Congratulations to those who were vaccinated and to those who made this vaccine campaign a success,” he responded on Twitter.

The Indian government has come under fire after the epidemic escalated, killing more than 200,000 people in April and May, and hopes to vaccinate 1.1 billion people by the end of 2021, a target that has been thwarted by administrative bungos. Since the vaccine began in January, only 15% of the population has received the two-dose vaccine.

Despite expert warnings, almost all movement restrictions have been lifted and the number of pollution cases since the waves last June has skyrocketed, saturating health infrastructure.

The number of new daily infections exceeded the 40,000 limit and rose to 46,000 on Saturday.

India is the second most affected country after the United States with over 32 million cases and more than 437,000 deaths.
