Com Newton and Patriots divorce

The New England Patriots released quarterback Cam Newton on Tuesday, so Mac Jones will start the team offense season.

Newton hit the target twice on five occasions for 10 yards, the 22-year-old completed 156 yards in his 14 stunts and 10 in the touchdown, winning 22-20.

Subsequently, head coach Bill Belichick declined to reveal the identity of his trusted quarterback in preparation for the opening meeting on September 12 against the Miami Dolphins.
