According to UK officials, the more contagious Delta subwoofer

British health officials said on Friday that a delta subvariant was spreading in the United Kingdom, which appears to be spreading more, but not more dangerous, and under surveillance, COVID-19 cases are on the rise.

The ‘AY4.2’ variant accounted for 6% of all cases in the UK last week, according to the UK Health Safety Agency in its weekly bulletin, which has been classified as a ‘trial variant’.

It therefore does not refer to the “worrying variant”.

“Preliminary evidence suggests that it has a higher transmission rate compared to Delta,” the British Public Health Agency said.

“More evidence is needed to determine if this is related to a change in viral behavior or to epidemiological conditions,” she said.

On the other hand, she emphasizes that this variant “does not appear to make the more severe version of the disease or the vaccines currently distributed less effective.”

This variant is a cause for concern, as the UK faces the worst levels of pollution in the world.

After registering more than 50,000 cases on Thursday for the first time in three months, it recorded 49,298 cases and 180 deaths on Friday, bringing the total pandemic number in the country to 139,326.
