(Ottawa) Conservative Ontario MP Marilyn Gladu has apologized for her “inappropriate remarks” after questioning the severity of COVID-19 over the weekend and harassing her leader Erin O’Toole.
In a written statement, Mr.Me Gladu acknowledged that sharing false information during the epidemic was “dangerous.”
“I apologize for the insulting remarks I made about the COVID-19 vaccine in a recent interview with CTV. After reflection, I realized how dangerous it is to share false information about the severity of COVID-19 and the safety and effectiveness of vaccines. I will withdraw these comments completely, ”she said in a statement.
“I sincerely apologize to Canadians. I apologize to my colleagues and the leader for the distraction created by my comments, ”she added.
“Vaccines are a safe and effective way to limit the spread of COVID-19 and prevent serious illness. I encourage all Canadians who can be vaccinated. When it comes to the safety and effectiveness of vaccines, Canadians should have doctors and public health professionals who advise them, not politicians, ”she concluded.

They also highlighted some tensions within the party over the issue of compulsory vaccination, which is noticeable in the election campaign. Mr. O’Toole wants to end this “distraction” before the start of his parliamentary term on November 22.
M.Me Glad is part of a conservative mini-caucus against compulsory vaccinations that bring together nearly thirty deputies and senators.
By revealing the decoration of his shadow cabinet on Tuesday, the Conservative leader fired those unwilling to promote vaccines as an effective way to bring the Kovid-19 pandemic.
Mr O’Toole said all Conservative MPs who attend House of Commons meetings in person must adhere to health rules and be vaccinated twice.
