Excellent rise from the rocket

Thanks to a decisive shootout net by Rafael Harvey-Pinard at the Coca-Cola Coliseum on Wednesday night, the Laval Rocket closed the four-goal gap in 23 minutes to win 6-5 over the Toronto Marlis.

Had to go to the eighth round in a shootout to decide between the two opponents. After Kevin Pauline stopped in front of Powell Gogolev, he beat the Quebec striker Michael Hutchinson at once and closed the books.

Cole had a tough game on the field defense, but he redeemed himself by scoring an equalizer at 13:46 in the third period. The small forward caught a puck in his zone before rushing to beat the goalie with a good shot.

Louis Belpedio and Lucas Vezdemo also found the back of the net in the third period, with Gabriel Bork Laval starting the comeback moments after Kevin Pauline’s arrival.

An insurmountable advance?

Marlis may have lost their opening goaltender due to injury in the middle of the game, but they were determined to avenge a 5-0 defeat to the Rockets on October 27.

Kevin Roy actually made contact with Eric Colgren, who previously blocked 13 of 14 throws from Jean-Franకోois Howell. Hutchinson’s arrival in front of the net breathed new life into Marleys, who quickly scored three goals in the second period to take a 5-1 lead.

Michael McKinney was withdrawn from the coaching post following a fifth goal from home by Semyon der-Arguchintsev. He twice surrendered to Brett Sen, Josh Ho-Song and Joey Anderson.

Harvey-Pinard scored the rocket at the end of the first period.

Rocket will continue his next duel in Belleville against the Senators on Saturday.
