(Toronto) The sexual harassment trial of Canadian musician Jacob Hogard, a leading member of the Headley Group, has been postponed again due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Jacob Hogard was originally scheduled to appear in Ontario for trial in January 2021, but the date before the jury’s trial was adjourned to April and this year was postponed.
The Ontario Superior Court announced in mid-December that new jurors would not be trained until February 7 due to the highly contagious Omicron variant. However, she said the decision on whether to continue or suspend the existing jury trials would be left to the judge.
At his preliminary hearing, Mr. Hogwarts pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual harassment that led to physical harm and sexual intercourse.
The singer was arrested in 2018 and charged in connection with alleged incidents involving a woman and a minor. At the time, police confirmed that the allegations came from three separate incidents in the Toronto area in 2016.
None of the complainants will be identified due to the publication ban.
An investigation has been launched following allegations of inappropriate dating with young fans targeting Mr Hogard.
A few months before his arrest, the musician released a statement in which he admitted that he had behaved “in a way that was offensive to women,” but condemned the unconventional sexual behavior.
