Prime Minister Franకోois Legalt Covid-19 has been hit and will have to be self-isolated for the next five days.
According to our information, after a question and answer session in the National Assembly, the Prime Minister experienced the first symptoms during a visit from Quebec to Montreal on Thursday.
“These are cold-like symptoms,” said Manuel Dion, director of its media relations.
The quick test came back positive and the Prime Minister announced on Twitter earlier in the evening that he was in solitary confinement despite assuring us that he was “good”.
“I will continue to work remotely for the next 5 days in accordance with public health guidelines,” wrote Franయిois Legalt.
“We are seeing this with the recent increase in cases: the virus is in Quebec. Let’s proceed with caution. Let’s face it together! ”
No other cases
Currently, the CAQ government does not report COVID-19 cases among its ministers.
Manuel Dion argues that “we continue to apply the sanitary measures in place” such as wearing a mask.
But the Prime Minister has been holding consultations with his party members for days a week.
On Thursday morning, he sat in the Blue Room, where elected officials sat close to each other again since sanitation measures were relaxed. However, the outside of the speeches still need a mask.
Mr. Legalt also chaired his cabinet on Wednesday, before attending a meeting of his deputies in the evening.
Increase in infections
Quebec is experiencing a further increase in COVID-19 cases linked to the new BA.2 variant, beginning with the Sixth Wave in Europe.
As of Wednesday, 2,295 new cases had been reported, but the index has now become less reliable with restrictions on PCR testing.
But, most of all, he continues to be hospitalized for several days. On Thursday, 1,062 people occupied the bed, an increase of 28 compared to the previous day.
This revival also inspired the National Director of Public HealthR Luc Boileau, to postpone the lifting of the mandatory mask wearing until April 15.
On the same day, the Prime Minister, Franకోois Legalt, stated that he intends to continue wearing the mask for a certain period of time, although it is no longer mandatory.
“Yes, I, in any case, will continue until a certain time and especially we will refrain from looking at the drop,” the Prime Minister confirmed on Wednesday. We are reaching a plateau and even with small growth, I think it is very important for the world to sustain it.
