The event, hosted by Quebec 101, invited people on Facebook who are “fed up with Montreal’s persistent anglicization” or who serve in English in its businesses.

All this happened a week after thousands of people took to the streets of the Quebec metropolis to condemn Bill 96, especially in English-speaking CEGEPs seeking to impose more courses in French and French.

“It’s part of a continuation of the quest for survival, first of all identity, but also linguistic,” said David Messier, a patriotic red, white and red flag bearer from Beloil.

In Dorchester Square, many of them waved the Quebec flag and dressed in white and blue.

The troop left for Place des Arts after 3:30 p.m.

The songs of Gilles Vignolt and Hubert Lenoir echoed on Saint-Catherine Street, chanting, “Quebec, n Franchise! And “CEGEP, in French!” The demonstrators chanted slogans.

Both young and old were there. Everyone was asked to take strict measures to preserve their language.

“It is important that we represent the French language because it is losing more and more, especially in Montreal, with companies [s’affichent] In English, ”laments Charlotte LeBlanc, 15.
