An awkward newscast compared to the movie Don’t Look Up

While some were wondering about the heatwave that wreaked havoc across the UK earlier this week, a good bunch saw it coming.

Unfortunately, this gang is made up of scientists and people don’t trust them.

In a surreal report broadcast last week on British channel GBN, meteorologist John Hammond warned listeners that the weather could have catastrophic consequences in the next few days.

“From the beginning of next week, we can forget 20 degrees, we will probably have 40 degrees. I believe there will be hundreds, if not thousands, of deaths early next week,” said the meteorologist, who has been in the business for 30 years.

“We all love good weather, but this isn’t good weather, it’s deadly weather.”

One of the morning show’s two anchors reacted very strangely to this news, which should have worried any normal person.

“Oh John… I wish we were happy about the weather. I don’t know what happened to climate scientists to make you so deadly, haha. Prophets of doom, haha.

Then she tries to explain whose job it is to observe the ever-hot weather.

“How hot was the summer of 1976 now, wasn’t it?”

“Uh, no,” John Hammond replied. In 1976, the UK actually experienced a massive heat wave, but the mercury reached a high of 35.9 degrees. It was five degrees cooler than the temperature Britons experienced earlier in the week.
